We've all been there, right? Here's what one of my favourite musicians M.I.A. told me about her last relationship, the one before her current love and babydaddy. (Yes, we all know it was with a famous DJ but who cares who it was.) Point is... well, I'll let Maya tell you:
“I was really heartbroken when I made Kala,” she says. “My ex says I was difficult, that the thing he hated about me most was that I was a musician. That kind of blows my mind, because music is such a strong thing about who I am, but at the same time, something else gets taken away. I’m too much of a romantic. It’s like, ‘love is love! And you should die for it,’ you know?” Though she feels better now, she says her experience revealed a lot about competitiveness in relationships. “The woman can’t be stronger than the man.” What if you are? “Then you’re fucked.”
